We’re delighted to announce that the winner of our 2022 T-shirt competition is Alexandra Bailey! We loved Alexandra’s beautiful, well thought-out entry (above), and we can’t wait to see the finished T-shirts, which will be available to buy at this year’s festival!
Here’s what Alexandra had to say about her design:
I've been going to the Folk Festival for years and included elements in my design that I associate with the festival. I can't wait for this year's one!
- The fox, for the beautiful wicker fox statue of course!
- The duck pond - no visit to the folk festival is complete without a trip there!
- Four suns and four moons to represent the four days the festival is held over
- Guitar - the instrument of choice for this year's headliners The Gypsy Kings and Seasick Steve
- Ripples in the pond radiate the musical atmosphere of the event - all notes, clefts, and musical symbols
- The 'welcome back' as a friendly nod to having people back at Cherry Hinton Hall for the first time in a couple of years
- Small trees and tents represent the campsite, music tents and surrounding nature.
- and last but not least, a hidden duck!
This year’s runner up is Hannah Baptiste, a year 11 student at Hockerill Anglo-European College, who has won a pair of Folk Festival day tickets! Check out her design below:
