This year’s concert is an exciting programme of entirely French music by four of France’s greatest composers – Francis Poulenc, Louis Vierne, César Franck and Gabriel Fauré – all in the amazing surroundings of Trinity College Chapel. Poulenc's Gloria is joyous, funny and sensual in equal measure; Vierne’s Messe Solennelle is intensely dramatic. The organist for all the works will be the virtuosic Simon Hogan, the Assistant Director of Music at Southwell Minster, and the soloist is the young American sensational soprano April Fredrick. Also in the programme are two well-loved works, Fauré's Cantique de Jean Racine and Franck's Panis Angelicus.
