Stunning vocal range, flexibility, drama and power are among the hallmarks of the San Francisco Girls Chorus, recognised as one of the world’s finest youth vocal ensembles. Under the guidance of Artistic Director Valérie Sainte-Agathe, the GRAMMY award-winning choir has achieved a unique and incomparable sound, characterised by the clarity and force of impeccably trained treble voices, fused with expressiveness and drama. Their repertoire spans 1,000 years of choral masterworks, from plainchant to the most challenging and nuanced contemporary works, including music that has been created expressly for them – reflected in the adventurous programme selected for this lunchtime concert.

‘The San Francisco Girls Chorus is a treasure. Their training, musicality, and vibrant spirit are evident whenever they perform.’ Michael Tilson Thomas, Music Director, San Francisco Symphony
