Winners of “Choir of the World” at the 1999 Llangollen Music Eisteddfod, the New Zealand Youth Choir has achieved considerable success since its formation in 1979. Performances in New Zealand and internationally in the UK, Europe, Canada, the United States, Australia, Singapore, Russia, the Republic of Korea and China have firmly established its reputation for consistency, energy and excellence. The Choir comprises around fifty 18-25 year old singers and comes to the Cambridge Summer Music Festival with a varied programme of choral classics and traditional music from New Zealand, its performances of which are particularly acclaimed.
